what it takes?
For many young girls, a career as a model seems like a dream. And yes, you get to visit the most beautiful places, meet the best photographers, and can earn a good income. But the daily reality is that a career in modelling also demands a lot of determination, self-confidence, and a positive mindset. With 20 years of experience as a top model, I feel it is my duty to give you a realistic picture of your future.

The life of a top model has many beautiful sides. You get to work with amazing photographers, make-up artists, and designers who show you the most sparkling version of yourself. Next to that you also get to travel to some really cool places for work, whilst fully being taken care off.
But don't forget that your daily work also requires perseverance and determination from you. You have to shoot summer clothing in the winter outside (and vice versa), wait for long periods during castings or shoots, or fly out last minute for a booking. And don't forget that you mainly work with people you don't know, and that these people you don't know (yet) spend the whole day fixing your hair, makeup, and clothes.
We certainly don't want to scare you off, but these are everyday circumstances that you, as a new model, should be able to handle. Even if you're not having your best day, you'll always have to show your best side. To achieve the best result and to ensure that a client books you again for a future assignment. Because in the first few years, you'll have to work hard to build a strong portfolio.
